Dear Colleagues

PENSION BALLOT REMINDER

By now you should have received your ballot paper for the Union's vital ballot for strike action to defend our pensions.

If you've already voted, thank you. If you haven't, please do so as soon as possible - the ballot closes at midday on 14 June.

If you haven't received a ballot paper, contact the NUT's ballot hotline on 020 7380 6300 or email action@nut.org.uk. The hotline is open between 9am and 5.15pm Monday to Friday. Please note, however, that it will not be open on Bank Holiday Monday - 30 May. You will, of course, be able to email us on that day.

Thursday 26 May House of Commons Select Committee report on public sector pensions confirms that our pensions are affordable, fair and have already been reformed.

We need to send the strongest message possible to Government that we will not stand back and see our pension entitlements so drastically and unnecessarily eroded. In order to do so it is essential that we have a good turnout in the ballot and secure the biggest possible YES vote.

VOTE YES BY 14 JUNE FOR YOUR VOTE TO COUNT

Yours sincerely

Jerry Glazier
